I recently bought this pack from another site because, it is sold out here...which made me think it must be awesome. Apon receiving it in the mail I was stoked to have a larger pack to do my longer 30+ miler days & 14ers with. The color is great, the room is great but there are a few (in my mind) flaws. First, the reservoir is attached in the pack with Velcro humm... my only thought was why not a clip? I hope the Velcro holds up after dirt, sunscreen and dirty aide station hands touch it numerous times. Second, the hose there is no spot to clip the hose in place when your running which I didn't relize until I was out on the trail... I thought didn't someone put this pack on and run with it? When I got home I thought I must be missing a clip so I looked at the images and they show it tucked under a strap ...which doesn't work. And third, the upper chest strap is not adjustable like the bottom one, I think it would be much better if I was able to move it a little lower it felt intrusive on my neck. Just a few recommendations and thoughts. Happy trails. Amanda on Aug 23rd 2015
Before I got this pack I did most of my running in the Jenny Ultra Vesta pack -- that pack got the job done but couldn't hold quite enough for unsupported runs in the mountains -- that's where the Wink comes into play. This new version of the Wink fits really nicely and holds a lot of gear + food. The front pockets have elastic and securely hold 10oz bottles [or a 24oz Mt Dew + burrito if you're hiking...] while the back pockets hold up to 2L of water, lots of layers and have an outside pouch pocket for easy access to gloves/hat/jacket without even taking the pack off. If you're comparing this pack to the Jenny Ultra Vesta this is more of an actual backpack while the Jenny is much more vest-like when it's not filled up with gear. The Wink rides a little lower and does have a bit more bounce when it's not completely full; however, I've run with the Wink for 7+ hours and have had no fit issues. More details on how much gear + food can be packed into the Wink [and a comparison of the Wink vs Jenny packs] can be found here: http://runaroundaroo.com/2014/12/10/ultimate-direction-jenny-pack-wink-pack-comparison/ Heidi on Jan 19th 2015
