"Out of the three belts I tested, the Ultimate Direction Utility Belt is the only one I can recommend. Its simplicity in design and function has made it a go-to piece of gear for me this fall and winter." - I Run Far
The running belt you’ve been waiting for in five different sizes for any body type. The Utility Belt is sleek but durable and light yet packed with storage. It carries a 500ml soft flask, trekking poles, any phone, a jacket, and other small valuables with no bounce. The Utility Belt is ideal for daily use or as an alternative to a vest or handheld in a race. UD tip: wear the Comfort Belt with the Ultimate Direction logo in front.
One small, secure pocket plus three large unsecured pockets
Comfortably carries 500ml soft bottle with no bounce
Silicone printed elastic straps for additional storage
Five sizes for accurate fit
Waist Size: XS: 56 - 63 cm SM: 66 - 73 cm MD: 73 - 81 cm LG: 81 - 89 cm XL: 89 - 97 cm
I have used the belt now on five different runs, ranging from four miles to eleven. It easily holds my Houdini, gels, phone, Clif Bar, stocking cap and gloves in the various pockets. I did also test it with a soft flask and it worked fairly well with some bouncing. The pockets are thoughtfully laid out and the small loops make access to them easier. I have not tried the trekking pole holders yet but see no reason why they won't be effective unless you have the back pocket stuff with something. I appreciate the "dull" color scheme as well.
My only recommendation would be to have some anti-slip material (similar to what is on the inside of the trekking pole straps) on the belt itself to prevent some slippage as mine did move around a bit.
My waist measures 78 cm and I ordered a medium. Fits great!

Great for short outings
This is a great option for shorter outings. I just used it to run a local peak (10 miles, 3800'). On the climb it carried a full 500ml soft flask, gel, phone comfortably and without bounce, and on the descent it also carried my poles (BD z-style) without bounce and without interfering with the swing of my arms while running.
I also found all the compartments easy to access while on the move. The sizing is a little difficult for me because I sit right between the medium and the large. I typically wear a 30-32' waist. I bought the medium and it seems to fit alright.
