Sizing At Chest:
I have always ran with my phone playing the music on the phone's speaker, and I used to have the phone in an armband. I finally started to train for a half marathon and noticed that the sun tan on my left arm was uneven. I am able to put the phone in the front pocket with no problems at all. I also bought the reservoir so I can take swigs of water on the weekend long runs. The vest is really great. It weighs almost next to nothing. I also noticed that when I positioned it just right and when it's snug, it helps prevent nipple chaffing. So in a manner of speaking it acts like a sports bra too, lol. You can't go wrong with this vest, its a good investment. Noe on Jun 5th 2017
After years of trying out different hydration options, I am so happy to finally find something I love. The marathon vest is super light and perfect for road running. The bottle didn't bounce at all and every part of the vest is secure and comfortable. Highly recommend! Stephanie on Jan 26th 2017
This vest is incredibly light and fits very well. My favorite part is the cell phone pocket; my iPhone 6 fits perfectly. I highly recommend it! Steve D. on Sep 10th 2016
I got this vest because lately I prefer not using hand held bottles. Sometimes my shoulders get tired so I need to constantly switch hands plus using a vest means you have both hands free to eat or take pictures, etc.
The first thing I noticed is that this vest is light! The box it came in felt like it was empty. And once I put it on, I hardly felt it at all.
- The elastic pocket in back is easily reachable while running and you can insert/remove clothing no problem.
- The front bottle pocket will hold a 24 oz rigid cycling bottle easily.
- The zippered phone pocket fit my (fairly large) Nexus 6P phone.
- The side straps and the chest straps are easy to adjust while running.
- My only complaint is that my full bottle in the bottle pocket bounced around quite a bit. I suspect this is because 1) the vest is so light that it offers less structural support and 2) it only holds one bottle so it isn't balanced.
I tried cinching down all the straps and that helped reduce the bounce but then I felt like I was restricting my breathing. Perhaps a soft bottle would not bounce around so much? I'm still going to keep this and will try a smaller rigid bottle next time and then a soft bottle as well. Martin Criminale on Aug 10th 2016
Everything you need for a long run, nothing you don't, and about half the price of a signature series vest . Wish it came included with water bottles but otherwise no complaints. Great vest. Kyle on Jun 14th 2016
Excellent stability even when carrying a 16 oz. bottle. On the left shoulder strap is a zippered pocket which securely holds nutrition without bouncing; I use the left outside stretch pocket for my iPhone 5S. I use the back main compartment to hold a collapsible water bottle (or bladder) and it is large enough to hold a jacket. There is a convenient stretch lower pocket, kind of like having bike jersey pockets. I use it for arm warmers, trash, nutrition. I did not like the hooks that close the main back compartment; they are really difficult to use. Also, the top sternum strap doesn't do a whole lot. I keep it tightened all the way all the time. I guess it keeps the top of the shoulder straps from flopping around, but I can rarely get it snug. I compared this to the UltraSpire Spry 2. The Spry is a bit more comfortable, the front pocket arrangement is superior, and the magnetic closure on the back is way better. But because the front pockets are large and not stretchy, things bounce around; whereas, the UD Marathon Vest keeps things nice and snug. Mark S. on Mar 30th 2016
