Sizing At Chest (Women's):
LOVE my new vest! The pockets provide so much flexibility & tons of options! Some with zippers, some without, some with velcro... My only complaint is that the sizing runs a little small. If you're between sizes (like I am) order the larger one... I ran around with mine in the beginning and realized when it was too late that I really should have ordered the larger size. I just run with the top buckle only now (too much padding around the middle to fasten the lower one right now), and honestly it still works like a dream! So much space if you need it, but it all collapses down to basically nothing if you're just dipping out for a short run. I fit an extra (hard) water bottle and a collapsable dog bowl in the back & it all cinches down tight & never flops around. My pup thanks you for that one.
I knew I liked this vest already, but when I discovered the emergency hair tie (GODSEND, the most brilliant idea ever, UD thinks of everything!) I knew it was true, unrequited love. It takes a little while to learn to run with trekking poles stashed, but way more convenient than carrying them by hand. I don't think I'll ever run with anything else! Maria KH on Sep 7th 2017
I bought my vesta a few weeks ago & have run about 100 miles with it. Bottom line is; I LOVE IT! I was very nervous buying it. My rib cage is 28" but my boobs are pretty big & I thought it would squeeze me on the top & be loose on the bottom. Wrong! There are many adjustments that can be made & it fits me like a glove without movement. I was also skeptical buying a vest with chest flasks because of the same reason & I've got to say that I really like them. I'm still building the knack getting a drink while remaining in a running form, but I think it will come. I also use a bladder & fed the tube as an under arm so it would stay out of the way. That is perfect. So, now I can run with water & electrolytes at the same time. I think the only thing I'd like differently is the tab holding the bladder up needs to be shorter. It's a tiny bit long & allows the bladder to bounce. The colors are also better & brighter in person & I just love it. I would very much recommend this vesta for 42k+ ultras. They really wrapped up all my vest wishes into one - you'll love it! Kristi on Jul 27th 2017
I took this out for my 4.5 mile trail run and this was literally everything I was looking for! It had a good amount of space in the back for extra set of clothes, pockets are perfect for easy-to-grab fuel or iphone 6 or hand-held speaker, and the waterbottles are amazing! I've tried other packs before to use as fuel and always felt like they moved around a lot and I could feel the water jiggle around. I couldn't feel anything jiggling with the adventure vesta and put one bottle with plain water and the other filled with Nuun. Super excited to use this more for longer marathon training runs and trail running too! Stacy on Jul 27th 2017
I have been ultra running in hand-me-down and incorrectly fitting packs for about a year now and I finally decided to treat myself and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! Aesthetically, this pack is beautiful. I love the colors and as much I as I wanted to run a marathon immediately upon receiving it I also didn't want it to get dirty because it was so pretty! Of course, my first run in it I slipped and fell in mud... Functionally, I can't emphasize enough how awesome this pack is. I've been running in men's packs and I thought I was fine but when I tried this one on I didn't realize how horribly the ones I've been using fit me. It actually fits my woman sized ribs and hits me in all the right places. I also didn't know how I'd like the soft bottles. I've been told by ultra runners that they're way better than bladders and being stubborn as I am I didn't take their advice until recently. I ran/hiked 17 miles in Buckskin Gulch in Southern Utah with the soft bottles and fell in love. It's actually really nice not having that bladder tube running across your chest and because the bottles are soft you can hold it for a while and keep moving while you're drinking. They're much easier to clean too. And, once you've drank the contents they collapse super small and you can throw them in the back. I didn't think I'd like the bottles being located in the front right on top of my boobs either but it didn't bother me at all. I have a very small chest though so I'm not sure how this would feel for a well endowed woman. I use one bottle as backup and put it in the back of the pack and have one out front and my phone in the other pocket. It works out perfect. When I finish drinking the first one I just replace it with the full one and put the collapsed one in the back. There is so much storage space too! They did a really great job designing the pockets on this pack. Instead of having one big pocket with all your stuff jostling around, there are multiple compartments. I don't notice anything bouncing around and you can sort of prioritize your gear with all the cool pockets. I have one with food, one with back up clothing, one with toiletries, etc. I could boast about this pack forever but you just gotta try it on for yourself. Guys, if you're trying to attract an ultra runner girl, this is the way to her heart. Jordan Kelch firstname.lastname@example.org on Apr 19th 2017
This is my first hydration pack. I was going to try this one and one from Nathan that I had my eye on, then keep the one I like best. But I never got as far as trying the other.
This pack meets all my needs and has features, more storage for example, that the other contender doesn't have.
I can pop into the supermarked on my way home from my run and fit in enough groceries for my dinner etc. Or I can take more layers of clothing with me.
I have put on about 150klm in the last couple of weeks and I haven't experenced any problems. No chafing, annoying noises, no slippage in fit etc.
I am going to dock UD one star however, as I think it's an oversight not to have included a magnetic or other method of fastening my hydration bladder hose in a convenient location.
If I manage to wear this pack out (unlikely) I'll be returning to UD for a replacement or upgrade. Kristal Busby on Apr 10th 2017
This pack is a good multi-purpose pack, but lacks the capacity and useful pocketing design of some of the men's packs. For long unsupported adventure runs I still go with the PB or Fastpack. It would be nice if they made an actual women's fit version of some of their other packs. Unknown on Jan 4th 2017
Im 5'4" , 120lbs and have the XS/S. I love the fit of the bag, the pockets, the storage ...everything. This bag would be PERFECT if it wasnt for the velcro! Ive worn the bag about a dozen times this summer and have to readjust/tighten the velco at least every few km's. It was really bad during a humid race day when I ended up sticking the velcro to my shirt as the lululemon material was "stickier." Unknown on Sep 26th 2016
I LOVE LOVE this vest! Please keep making it forever, UD! in case anything ever happens to mine. I LOVE the bladder bottles, love the fit, LOVE the colors, love the zipper pockets... you get the picture. If you're wondering about fit - I am 34" at the largest point in my chest and the xs/small fits great! I think it would fit someone with a little bigger chest - the front straps are on the tightest setting for me. It just fits so comfortably! The size is great, too - light enough to take on shorter runs but has enough storage to take hiking or ultra-marathoning, too! All around great hydration vest. My new must-have. Jenna on Sep 2nd 2016
I purchased this for a self supported race over 300 miles in the heat. I am small and most vests do not fit me well but this one was comfortable. I loved all the storage compartments and it held up well to a lot of abuse. The soft bottles were new for me but loved them and allowed me to not always have to use a bladder. My only suggestion was I wish there was a place like the men's have near the shoulder to carry mace or a knife. I found a small canister that could go in the front pocket but it took up valuable space and tell was a pain to get out if in an emergency. Unknown on Aug 6th 2016
I tried the adventure vesta. It is very nice quality and I thought it was comfortable, but it was still a bit big, no matter how much I tightened the straps. Also, the front two buckles are very tiny, and I wonder if they would hold up in the long run. I am 5"2" and weigh 109 pounds, so I am small. I am going to try the ultra vesta, which is smaller, in hopes that it will work.
The quality appears to be very good. Of course, I wish a bladder came with the pack. The bottles are very bouncy if the vest is loose. Arkansasrunner on Aug 3rd 2016
Doggies can join me on mountain runs during the dog days of summer with all the capacity for H2O. No chaffing, even with a sports bra only. Accessible pockets, even handy for dog cookies. I am training for a 50 mile trail run and know this capacity will keep me going through all of Utah's seasons. Can't wait to do a long desert run. I can tell elite runners helped with the design elements. Many local stores did not carry this model, but I am sure they will as more gnarly runners request it. Buy it! Unknown on Jul 22nd 2016
Absolute the best vest on the market. Pure love! Buy it! :D Em, Sweden on Jun 27th 2016
This vest is awesome. I also own and use the slightly smaller-capacity Ultra Vesta, but I use the Adventure Vesta for longer self-supported trail runs. It's got roomy pockets, holsters for 17-oz soft-flask Body Bottles, a handy outer mesh pocket (good for holding wet clothes or extra layers), and a much easier design in back to access the optional hydration reservoir. When I have a long unsupported run/hike, I load up this vest with a 70oz reservoir in back (sold separately), two Body Bottles in front, plenty of calories and safety gear in the pockets, my phone (the pocket is big enough for an iPhone 6), and if I'm in the mountains, I also make use of the trekking pole loops to hold collapsable poles. I particularly like the side Velcro tabs that make tightening or loosening the vest around my waist easy, and the adjustable sternum straps. The result is a secure, no-bounce fit. I highly recommend this vest for mountain running. sarahrunning on Jun 8th 2016
I really love this pack. I had the older versions of the Jenny pack and liked those but had some rubbing issues. There was a lot of attention to detail put into this pack. First I found it really comfortable, even with a full bladder, really snug and no chaffing. I also like the ability to attach the poles to the front so I didn't have to take the pack off. Love the collapsible bottles and larger pockets. Plenty of space to put stuff. It is also lightweight and seems quite durable. I'm 5'4" and around 112 pounds and used the size Small pack. Sharon McDowell-Larsen on Apr 11th 2016
Finally a pack where I don't get uniboob! I had the Jenny previously and liked it but didn't love the side water pouch and just didn't have enough pockets. Even with 2liters of water and both flasks filled, plus all the snacks and water filter this pack felt lightweight when on! So many pockets!!! The adjustable velcrow was really nice but I worry what will happen with extended use. I wear mostly tanktops and had zero chafing on my back even after a 6hr run. Totally worth the $!! I'm 5'2, 130, 36Cwith an athletic build. Brandi on Mar 28th 2016
At 5'2, 32B the vest fit snuggly wearing only a sports bra. First use was a long trail run in 3degree weather. After adjusting side and chest straps vest also fit snuggly over my cold weather gear. I was carrying full body bottles, a full 2L hydrapak reservoir, winter emergency supplies, plenty of food, a wind jacket, a rain jacket, socks, gloves, hat, and headlamp. There was room to spare inside the main compartment for smaller items. Body bottles are a great choice. I couldn't feel the hard plastic against my chest. Being able to push them down further into the pockets as I went prevented the sloshing (that drives me crazy). The lower pockets aren't as big as I expected though they stretch and can hold bulky items. It rides much higher than mens' vests I've used which I really like as I can tuck in my elbows and my arms don't graze the vest. The downside of riding higher is I can't access back pockets while I'm moving. Second use was a shorter run carrying only water. Adjusted the vest - no movement, no shifting, and my arms didn't touch any of the vest. I highly recommend it! Unknown on Feb 15th 2016
Love the adjustable fit and all the different compartments. The new soft water bottle design is great! Unknown on Feb 15th 2016
I have been waiting for UD to produce a larger-capacity vest with a women's specific fit, and this one fits the bill perfectly! There are lots of pockets in the front and tons of storage in the back. The body bottles are much more comfy than the hard plastic bottles that were used in the original Ultra Vesta, and there is now no sloshing! The vest fits securely with minimal bouncing, yet the material flexes well as you move. Great product!!! Unknown on Feb 8th 2016
